Under the ICAO Dangerous Goods Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) approach, instructors of initial and recurrent dangerous goods training must demonstrate or be assessed as competent in instruction and the function(s) that they will instruct prior to delivering such training.
All personnel delivering dangerous goods training in the UAE regardless of the function they are delivering the training for.
2- Holds a current and relevant instructional skills certificate (such as Train the Trainer, Professional Skills for Dangerous Goods Training Instructor…etc.) issued by a training provider either accredited or recognized by GCAA. Please share your certificate by email to IACT@gcaa.gov.ae
3- Attach their CV, to verify the minimum experience requirements as per Subsection 4.9.6 of Revision 1.4 of Civil Aviation Regulations “CAR Part VI. Please share your CV by email to IACT@gcaa.gov.ae
4- Since the Dangerous Goods National Regulatory requirements is an integral part of COVAL, all participants are required to familiarize themselves with the Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) PART VI – Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air at https://www.gcaa.gov.ae/en/epublication/civil-aviation-regulations

The GCAA initiative Dangerous Goods Competency Validation (COVAL) initial course, for dangerous goods training instructor aligns with the CBTA approach. GCAA is using COVAL as a tool/approach to assess and validate the Knowledge, Skills and Attitude for Dangerous Goods Training Instructors delivering dangerous goods training in the UAE, to ensure as much as practicable that they perform their job functions competently which will consequently assist trainees to receive quality dangerous goods training. In this course;
Certificate of Completion of COVAL - Initial. The certificate will specify the functions of which the instructor is approved/certified by GCAA to deliver the training for.
