COVAL is the GCAA integrated approach “as integral part of its dangerous goods oversight responsibilities” to validate the competency of Dangerous Goods Training Instructor and Dangerous Goods Post Holder, to ensure they are competent in the function(s) they will perform prior to performing such function(s), due to the impactful role they play in maintaining the safe transport of dangerous goods by air.
Who Must Attend?
An employee of a GCAA Dangerous Goods Certified Training Provider or an employee of a Training Provider in the process of obtaining GCAA Dangerous Goods Training Provider Certification, nominated by their employer provided meeting the following prerequisites;
1. Holding a Dangerous Goods Training Certificate FIT4.1.A or FIT4.1.D (to qualify for IGA COVAL certification) OR Holding a Dangerous Goods Training Certificate FIT4.1.E or FIT4.1.M (to qualify for IGB COVAL certification), as desired by their Training Provider (the employer).
2. Holding an instructional skills certificate or equivalent, such as but not limited to Train-the-Trainer, Professional Skills for Dangerous Goods Training Instructor…etc, issued by a training provider either accredited or recognized by GCAA. Please share a copy of your certificate by email to IACT@gcaa.gov.ae
3. Attach their CV, to verify the minimum experience requirements, in accordance with CAR Part VI. Please share a copy of your CV by email to IACT@gcaa.gov.ae
