The course will prepare participants to be competent aviation medical examiners through a comprehensive curriculum that is based on the competency framework formulated by ICAO Manual of Civil Aviation Medicine. The course will outline the overall regulatory framework of civil aviation and introduce the delegates to the GCAA regulation and the way they deal with GCAA Medical applications.

•To identify the medical requirements in different medical specialties to be applied during aviation medical examination process.
•To distribute the importance of regulatory role in Aviation safety.
•To know the different types of aviation medical certificates according to medical requirements prescribed and the procedures to be implemented during the issuing of a medical certificate.
•To understand how various clinical conditions can affect aeromedical safety and how aeromedical decision-making is used to mitigate this risk.
•To know the current key health issues related to civil aviation.
•Discuss the issues affecting the daily medical process.
•After completion of the course the participants should have a clear understanding of the way the GCAA system works, i.e. how/through which this regulations, policies and practices regulate and influence the industries
