Human Factors in Aviation

The program encourages peer interaction and critical thinking through a blended curriculum that mixes content, live events, and collaboration on real-world aviation issues.

This course is devoted to a detailed analysis of those human factors that can best optimize human performance and reduce human error. It embraces those variables that influence individual, team, or crew performance.

Furthermore, this course will provide case study examples to enable the attendees to see success and failure examples.

This 3 days course provides the participants with an overview of human factors concepts, knowledge and practical applications, with a focus on the current and future role of human factors in the operational environment of the aviation industry.

What you will learn:

• Situation awareness - Developing and maintaining a dynamic awareness of the situation and the risks present during Well Operations. Practice leadership, management and presentation skills
• Decision making -The ability to reach a judgment or choose an appropriate option to meet the needs of an assessed or anticipated situation. Cultivate an effective peer network
• Communication - The exchange of information, ideas and beliefs, by verbal and non-verbal methods. Apply the critical-thinking skills needed in today’s commercial aviation
• Teamwork – The ability to work effectively and interdependently in groups of two or more to achieve a shared goal
• Leadership – The ability to successfully influence others to achieve a shared goal by providing guidance, direction, coordination and support

Factors that impact human performance – These include stress, fatigue, health, distractions and environmental stressors arising from many internal and external sources
